Company History and Profile

Red Wharf Systems Ltd has been trading since 1998 (originally as Talbari Ltd). I am Managing Director and sole permanent employee, I have over 30 years IT experience.

From 1975 to 1989 I followed a conventional IT career in roles progressing from programmer, systems analyst and system designer, to department and project management. I worked mostly for financial institutions in the City of London and was Assistant Vice President of a major Swiss bank

In 1989 I started a new career and, after taking a degree in Geography at King’s College London, have concentrated on providing support for academic research, including being domicile in rural Nepal for 2½ years to manage research for The Royal Geographical Society.

In 1998 I formed Talbari Ltd to service freelance IT and research contracts, now Red Wharf Systems Ltd after moving to North Wales in 2001. Through Red Wharf Systems I combine my extensive IT experience with understanding of the research process to provide, I hope, exceptional IT support to academic and medical research projects - please review the list of medical and academic projects assisted.

I am married and have two young daughters.
